Mentoring Evanston Township High School National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Jr Chapter in VEX Robotics
I supported and mentored the students as they competed in a Regional VEX Robotics competition. I helped set up the competition as their high school served as the host.
Fieldtrip for Evanston Township High School National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Jr Chapter to Shedd Aquarium
Working with my Pre-College Initiative Co-chair, we organized a behind the scenes field trip to Shedd Aquarium. During the trip, they learned about different ways engineers impact wildlife such as a previous Northwestern Biomedical Engineering Capstone project addressing orthopedic arthritis in penguins.
A Walk For Education
I served on the planning committee for a city-wide event called A Walk For Education aimed to expose young Black students to the opportunities in higher education. Students got exposed to college readiness tools as well as got to interact with different projects from several Illinois institutions, From Northwestern, I recruited the Mechatronics Lab and Concrete Canoe to perform demos for the students. I also sat on a college discussion panel.
